Hasanah is intended for users in the United States.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Hasanah website, mobile application, and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

We may collect information you provide directly, including:

• login credentials or account setup information;
• communication preferences;
• support requests; and
• any other information you submit through the Service.

Account and transaction information

When you connect accounts through Plaid or another authorized provider, Hasanah may receive, process, and store certain account and transaction information necessary to operate the Service, including:

• institution information;
• account type;
• masked account details;
• transaction dates;
• transaction amounts;
• transaction descriptions;
• merchant-related data;
• balance information, where relevant;
• account verification status; and
• linkage status.

Hasanah does not collect or store your online banking login credentials directly. Those credentials are handled by the account-linking provider.

Funding and payment information

We may collect and store information related to:

• your linked U.S. checking account used for ACH debits;
• ACH withdrawal history;
• roundup totals;
• donation totals;
• 2.5% platform fee amounts;
• optional tip amounts;
• payment status;
• failed payment information; and
• donation and payment history.

Nonprofit and receipt-related information

We may collect, use, and share information necessary to support donation processing, campaign administration, nonprofit reporting, donor acknowledgments, receipt issuance, tax-compliance workflows, and related recordkeeping.

Device and usage information

We may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

• IP address;
• browser type;
• device identifiers;
• operating system;
• app activity;
• log data;
• referral URLs; and
• interaction data with the Service.

Communications information

We may collect records relating to communications with you, including:

• calculate roundup amounts;

• route funds through charitable campaigns;
• support nonprofit reporting, donor acknowledgment, and tax receipt workflows;
• send service communications, alerts, and notices;
• detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized activity, and security incidents;
• troubleshoot, improve, personalize, and secure the Service;
• comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, and contractual obligations; and
• enforce our Terms and policies.

4. How We Share Information

Hasanah does not sell your personal information for money.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

With Plaid

We may share information with Plaid to enable account linking, verification, and receipt of authorized account and transaction information.

With Stripe

We may share information with Stripe to process ACH debits, payment operations, and related payment activity.

With recipient nonprofits

We may share information necessary to support donation processing, campaign administration, donor acknowledgment, tax receipt issuance, legal compliance, and related recordkeeping.

With service providers

We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Service, including providers of hosting, analytics, communications, customer support, security, fraud prevention, and technical infrastructure.

For legal and compliance purposes

We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, legal process, or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, investigate fraud, enforce agreements, or respond to lawful requests.

In a business transfer

If Hasanah or Open Fundraise LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, corporate reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Your Choices

Depending on the functionality available in the Service, you may be able to:

• pause or cancel roundup participation;
• skip a scheduled cycle;
• disconnect linked accounts;
• update account and contact information;
• manage certain notification settings; and
• opt out of non-essential promotional communications, where offered.

Even if you opt out of promotional communications, you may still receive transactional and service-related communications necessary to operate your account and the Service.

6. Data Retention

Hasanah retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• provide the Service;
• maintain donation, payment, and business records;
• support nonprofit acknowledgments and receipt workflows;
• comply with legal, tax, accounting, audit, fraud-prevention, and regulatory obligations;
• resolve disputes; and
• enforce our agreements.

If you request deletion of your account, Hasanah may delete or de-identify certain information, but may retain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain required financial or donation records.

7. Security

Hasanah uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to help protect information.

However, no system is completely secure, and Hasanah cannot guarantee absolute security of information.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and Hasanah does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information as required by law.

9. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, subject to legal exceptions, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.

Hasanah is intended for use in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Hasanah may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you by posting an updated version through the Service, by email, or by other reasonable means.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated Privacy Policy.
