How to round up purchases for charity

If you want to round up purchases for charity, the basic flow is simple: connect your accounts, let the app calculate the spare change, and donate the weekly total instead of handling each purchase manually.

The math behind the roundup

Each eligible purchase is rounded to the next whole dollar. The difference between the purchase amount and that next dollar becomes the roundup amount for that transaction.

Why Hasanah aggregates instead of charging each roundup instantly

A weekly cycle is easier to follow than dozens of tiny transfers. One scheduled donation is cleaner, easier to understand, and less noisy than charging every purchase individually.

What can change the final number

Your total changes with your spending. Refunded purchases, pending activity, disputes, duplicate transactions, and failed payments can also affect what ends up in a given week.

More questions

Does Hasanah round up every merchant type?

Some activity can be excluded.

Do I need to move money manually each week?

No. The funding account is used for the recurring ACH debit once the roundup cycle closes.

Can I see the cycle total before it is processed?

Yes. Scheduled debit notices may be delivered through the app, push, email, SMS, or other electronic methods.
